Portraits with Larry and Peter
Tuesday, 10 August 2010 00:00

Just did a photo shoot with Larry Asam and Peter Larsen, so we could all have new portraits. Larry and Peter did the heavy duty portraits, while I shot the behind the scenes. The weather looked great, until we got to the front porch of the Congregational Church on Winooski. Yes, we had torrential rains and wild winds.

Here is a sneak peak of the portraits.

Sailing on Lake Champlain
Tuesday, 27 July 2010 14:10

Last Saturday, manned with a crew of children from the Lake Champlain Sailing Center, the Mashnee won the local Regatta for Lake Champlain. The regatta earns money for several non-profit organizations that help to keep Lake Champlain healthy.

Mashnee, winning boat; Captain: Jan Rozendaal and
Crew Member: Mark Naud, President of LC Sailing Center

With great pleasure I had the opportunity to shoot the Mashnee. This winning boat is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful boats I have ever seen.
The Mashnee is 46' Nathanael Greene Herreshoff designed Buzzard's Bay 30 originally built by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company of Bristol, Rhode Island in 1902. In 2004m her current owner, Jan Rozendaal of South Burlington, Vermont, acquired her. When Jan purchased the Mashnee, it was not a floatable vessel. It took three years at Darling's Boatworks in Charlotte, VT for the Mashnee to be almost completely rebuilt. Look at her now!

Anderson House
Thursday, 22 July 2010 07:53

Jon and Betsy Anderson hired architect Sandra Vitzthum to design a retirement friendly home on Lake Elmore. Sandra designed an extremely beautiful and comfortable house for the Andersons using fireplaces, porches, decks, floor to ceiling walls of windows, hardwoods, marble, cherry and soapstone. The first floor is  handicap accessible: entryway, living room, dining room, kitchen with a breakfast area,  laundry, mudroom, bedroom and bath.

The Flynn Garden Tour 2010, in Burlington, VT
Friday, 16 July 2010 12:48

14th Annual Flynn Garden Tour was held on Sunday, July 11, 2010. The tour showcased 9 private gardens located in the Burlington Area as well as having a tea at Gardener's Supply in Burlington.

The event was just perfect!

One of the gardens that was opened up to this tour was that of April Cornell, a fabulous fabric and dress designer. She trumped the show with her decorated swing (seen below). I had the pleasure of having two girls from Sweden swing for my camera.

Right out of GQ! Todd Lockwood cruises in his 1940 Hot Rod Lincoln

My 1940 Hot Rod Lincoln

by Todd R. Lockwood
www.ToddRLockwood.com

I had no idea how much fun this 1940 Lincoln Contitental would be until I owned it. I was into newer, sexier cars, like Ferraris.

My dad drooled at this Lincoln for his entire adult life. It pulled into Lake Placid, NY, brand new, in the summer of 1941. My dad was a lifeguard at the local beach at the time. The Lincoln appeared on the streets of Lake Placid every summer like clockwork. Years later, when my dad was in his fifties, he announced at the dinner table that he was going to buy the car from the current owner's estate, no matter what the cost. The owner was 85 at the time, so my dad figured he wouldn't have to wait too long. The guy lived to 104.
